Ingredients:
2 Fresh Bay Leaves
1 Teaspoon Table Salt
1 Teaspoon Hot Cayenne Pepper
1 Teaspoon Fresh Cracked Peppercorn
1/3 Teaspoon Fresh Ground White Pepper
½ Teaspoon Fresh Ground Cumin
½ Teaspoon Fresh Ground Nutmeg
4 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
1 Bell Pepper, Chopped
¼ Cup Chopped Green Onions
6 Cloves Garlic, Minced Or Pressed
1 Heaping Tablespoon Of Hot Salsa
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
½ Cup Sweet Evaporated Milk
½ Cup Cold Ketchup
1 ½ Pounds Twice Ground Beef
½ Pound Sausage
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs

Cooking Directions:
Combine fresh bay leaves, table salt, hot cayenne, fresh cracked pepper, white pepper, ground cumin and fresh ground nutmeg in a large mixing bowl. Set aside for later use. Now melt the butter or margarine in a medium large saucepan. Sauté chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, chopped green onion, garlic, salsa and Worcestershire sauce along with the reserved seasonings set aside in step one. Sauté mixture until sauce starts to thicken. About 6 minutes. Stir in cold milk and ketchup, cook additional 2 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Remove from heat and allow cooling. In a separate baking dish, add the ground beef, sausage, beaten eggs, and vegetable mixture minus the bay leaves. Top with bread crumbs. Mix well. Bake at 350 uncovered for 30 minutes. Turn the heat up to 410 degrees and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes. Once done, let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
